This family of four bought a beautiful brick home in River Forest but couldn't quite make the kitchen work. The kitchen was separated from all the other rooms in the house with small door openings into the hall, the dining room and the breakfast room. All of those openings made it difficult to get any more functionality from the existing space. The blueprint shows the layout. By taking down the wall between the kitchen and dining, eliminating the breakfast room and incorporating it into the kitchen, and shifting and enlarging the opening to the sun/family room, the homeowner now had a large functional kitchen and great flow.
